Unlikely comparison

From a story about record companies not posting singles to networks like iTunes because the sales are cutting into album sales.

Tony Brummel, the owner of the independent rock label Victory Records, says he is not interested in selling individual songs from his albums. A rock album, Brummel said, “is a work of art.”

“If you’re buying a Picasso,” he continued, “you can’t just buy the upper right-hand corner.”

Umm, I don't know that Ne-Yo's "So Sick" exactly compares to a Picasso.

Lunch break whimsy

Funny things I saw on my lunch break:

1) A woman with a tattoo on her throat.

2) A guy with sneakers colored and designed like old-school spats.

Where? "Hair"

So, this exercise program we're on: One of th days is walk for five minutes to warm up, then for 12 minutes at a faster pace, then run for a minute, then walk and run again.
Anyway, I decided to watch "Hair" while doing my walk tonight.
And during the first minute-long run we're supposed to throw in? A song - sung by a black character - "glorifying" the names people have called black people through the years comes on.
And I was so busy trying to forward through it so neighbors wouldn't hear it and get the wrong idea, I ran a minute and a half.

Goodbye, white

So, I'm trying to break in a new pair of sneakers.
And right now, they're pristine white.
And it occurs to me that I'm going to be kind of upset when they start getting all smudgy.

But there's no way to prevent it.
